My sister wrote a book.
My Grandfather was a holocaust survivor. He was the only survivor in his family. Unfortunately we haven't yet had the opportunity to write his life story. I am so proud of my sister. Lisa is in journalism and was put in the right place at the right time. She worked at the American Israelite as an assistant editor, and answered a call from Ruth Kropveld. Ruth was calling to inform them that she is a holocaust survivor, and was reuniting with a woman that she was in hiding with in Holland after 60 years. She wanted to know if someone from the paper wanted to come and cover the story, take some pictures, etc. Lisa was excited about this and of course went to cover the story. While there, Lisa talked to Ruth and Ruth shared some of her story with Lisa. She even found out that our grandpa's fur store was right next to Ruth's hat store and they knew each other! With our grandfather's history, and our promise to him to spread the word about the holocaust, to teach people about it so that it can never happen again, Lisa realized at once that she had to share Ruth's story with the world. The book is titled Nevertheless We Lived and it can be reviewed and purchased from Xlibris.com. We have posted the link here on our blog. http://www2.xlibris.com/bookstore/bookdisplay.asp?bookid=47030

WOW, What a great inspiring story you all can pass down now. Great job to Lisa for writing a book! I sure that was difficult to not only write a book, but to hear first hand the suffering that was caused to your family.
We will see you in a couple of weeks.
