The Newlyweds!

The wedding was beautiful, and everything went perfectly! Even grandma was released from the hospital for 8 hours so they could make it! What a wonderful surprise for Michael. Michael cried when he saw Kristi walking down the aisle, neither stumbled over the vows, the kiss was several seconds long- plenty of time to snap pictures (I'll post many more pictures very soon), and John got his revenge from the toast Michael made at his and Steph's wedding (though not with the toast, with Michael's car- I will also post those pictures.) It was a beautiful day!

Wedding Bells

Well, we're almost there. Mikey will be married next Saturday. Can't believe it. Then we'll only have Jill to go...We're all getting so old! The wedding will be near John and Steph's house in the New Albany (sort of) area. We'll be taking half a day Thursday and Friday off of work to help with the decorating and final preparations. Jill is doing some note cards, the table cards, and some other things for the reception. She is really talented with making cards, etc. One of these days I'll post some pictures of her work!

So, hopefully my grandma and grandpa (Payne) will be able to attend the wedding. Apparently on Sunday, she was hanging some ribbons and decorations around the mailbox, was standing on a ladder, and fell, fracturing her pelvis. Last update was last night, they were still in the ER. It seems that something could be worked out to get them to the wedding, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. Everyone pray for her!

Must get back to work! Work, Work, Work!

getting over sickness

Sorry no post in a long time! we have been busy like always. standard excuse i know. Lets see what has gone on. Alison has had strep throat, we just got back from Dr and Isaac has strep throat, I just got over a cold, (you all might want to clean off your monitor after reading this, at least disenfect it!!!)
I (Brian) have been busy reading as much as i can get ahold of on digital camera picture taking, well picture taking all around and mastering adobe photoshop. This has turned into my new hobby it feels like.
Alison has been getting over strep throat and that is really about it besides working alot.

We have been in a dillema, do we redo our kitchen, how do we do it( we have had a designer or two come out and give us quotes), or do we just buy a bigger house? We are thinking of making our galley style kitchen (7'x10' or so ) into a 10'x10' kitchen. choices choices choices.

that is all for now. Alison will add some tommorow

We got Isaac a cute little froggy outfit for Halloween. He seems to like it a lot. He had a Halloween party at daycare that he and all his friends got to dress up. The only problem we have is that he does not like to say ribbet, but he does love to ROAR like a bear. Ohh well

The Smokies

Well, we've been trying to catch up on everything since we've returned from a great vacation! We went to Gatlinburg, and spent 4 days hiking in The Great Smokey Mountain National Park. The other day we went to the Ripley's Aquarium due to predicted rain. We got a back-pack carrier for Isaac- it worked out pretty well. He mostly enjoyed it, but on the longer hikes he got pretty restless, and wanted to get down to walk/run/play/throw rocks/get muddy, you know, all the things little boys like to do. Of course we took tons of pictures...600 and something. We narrowed them down to 422 favorites, and they are posted on ofoto. Here's a little sampling...

Thumb Sucker

We had some Phillips family pictures taken last weekend at a park in Cinci. The photographer snapped this one of Isaac doing what he does best- Sucking his thumb! He's still totally a mama's boy. It seems every day he learns something new, and I'm constantly impressed at how well he understands us! He also loves to dance! I'm not really sure where he got that from- we'll have to try to video him and figure out how to post that.

New toys

Alison (my lovely wife) let me go out and buy some new toys for us. As you know I am big into photography and have wanted a digital slr for ever. A brand new canon rebel just came out and we are the proud new owner of a 10 megapixle digital slr (canon eos rebel xti) We have played with it a little bit and I am very impressed with its functions, speed, and quality of pictures. We are planning our vacation to Gatlinburg next month when the leaves change. I am hoping to take some great pictures with this. Here are some pictures of the camera.

The other toy is a brand new computer. Ours is about 5 years old and was not working very well for video editing (of the little guy growing up). It is a nice dual core amd processor Hewlett Packard computer. I was going to build my own, but the nice people at best buy gave me a great package deal (well I did have to talk to two different managers and tell them how much of a moron the first manager was, well not really, but I did want to say that) Now that we have more processing power in the computer we can do more with the photography and Photoshop, as well as get some video editing done of Isaac.

This is a little bit old, but it's cute! Brian is going to buy me a memory stick so I can easily bring pics from home to work- which is the only time I have (which is also minimal) to do things online. At home I prefer to spend all available time with the little guy.

So, GO BUCKS! I have to admit, I was very nervous about the game with Texas. Fortunately all turned out perfectly. But what is it- they are back to burning campus down again! I thought that was over with while we were there. Oh well.

Looking forward to seeing family at Talyn's birthday party this weekend. Since we all grew up, it seems we are rarely all together anymore.

Oh- another family announcement to those who haven't heard the date...Michael and Kristy will be getting married on December 2, 2006- yes, this year- in Columbus near John and Steph's house.

I'll try to do better at posting. Sorry.

Vacation At Last!

Well...almost. Brian, Isaac and I will be leaving Cinci Wednesday evening for a much deserved extended weekend in Columbus. Poor Ruthie will have to stay with her aunt Sophie this time. I'm so excited to get away from work for a few days, enjoy the sun (we're all way too pale for mid-August), the swimming pool, family, and of course a wedding. We'll be sure to take plenty of pictures of Isaac the fish- he absolutely loves the water, the wedding, and maybe even Jill's new apartment (I think we'll be helping her move in).

We also got some pretty cool news yesterday- Ikea will be building a new store in West Chester! With it being so close, I hope I'll be able to keep from breaking the bank!
