Vacation post #2

One full day down. These are a couple of unedited pictures that I took last night. There are a lot more, I will post a web album later. We are having fun. We hiked down to this lighthouse, the only one on the island, and it is right near our campsite. As you can see, the family hiked out a little on the rocks, I hiked out a little farther to get some pictures. Isaac really liked seeing the ocean! And seeing the boats and buoys.

Isaac is singing to Amelia right now. He is a great big brother, While he is singing to her, she is smiling back. We are packing lunch for a fun day out in the park. I will type more later.

Vacation Post #1

Yay! We made it! After MANY hours on the road, we made to Bass Harbor on Mount Desert Island (Acadia National Park, Maine). We got in around 1:30 am. Someone had their pick-up parked in Mom and Dad's camp spot, so they had to take the one next to it, then move it again in after a few hours of much needed sleep. Because it takes a while to set up our camper, we slept in Mom and Dad's again last night. We now are all set up and ready to go to sleep our first night in ours.

I really think that we have the best kids ever. How many people do you know that can take their 3 year old and 4 month old driving like 1200 miles for two days with stops only to re-fuel, eat, use the potty, and sleep without getting any fussing or insane crying (Amelia only cried to let us know that it was time for her to eat)? AND they both slept through the night! They are truely amazing. We are absolutely blessed!

So it's getting kind of late in the day, and everyone else is taking a nap. I just had my first shower since about 5 am Wednesday. We haven't been out of the campgrounds yet to see the ocean during daylight. We did catch glimpses of it on our way in last night. Hopefully everyone will be okay with taking a short walk before we start getting dinner ready. We all need to get a good night's sleep tonight, because the rest of our time here will be packed with hiking and touring around the area, and taking photos. What I've seen so far is really beautiful! I can't wait to see (and show you) more...

Before and After pictures. As you can see.... Isaac had a haircut today!!! It is much more manageble now. And as Alison said, much cooler in the summer months. We will see the curls again sometime I guess.

Here are a couple of pictures of me chassing Isaac up and down the street to get cute pictures.
