Busy May Weeked #2

So it was Isaac's turn this weekend to celebrate a birthday. I can't believe he's 3! They grow up WAY too fast! Of course we had a couple of parties. First was at his daycare on Friday with all of his friends there. I baked cupcakes in Diego papers. All of the kids seemed to have a blast with that...

On Saturday, Grandma took Isaac to Kings Island while Mommy worked on baking the cake and preparing some of the other food for his party at home. Fortunately, I had a lot of help with everything from Grammy and Gramps and Uncle John and Daddy. Thanks so much to all of you! I would never have gotten everthing finished! Mom and I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning decorating the cake. It looked awesome (for a while)! Sunday was the big day of the party. Of course we put Isaac down for a nap before hand so he would hopefully not be grumpy. I think he was a little too excited for the party...he didn't really want to take a nap, but he seems to have worn himself out trying to stay awake.

It doesn't really look too comfortable to me...

We had yummy, yummy food, beautiful weather, and the best family and friends anyone could hope for! Thanks to you all for helping make Isaac's day so special.

Please read on the following posts. My hubby is normally a genius when it comes to anything computer related, but for some reason, we can not figure out how to put more than 5 images into one post, so I started at the bottom, the end of the story, and worked my way up. Hopefully it's not too messed up or confusing. We'll take any advise from any of you more experienced bloggers out there...

So we decorated in Orange, Aqua Blue, and Bright Green with lots of Diego, Isaac's best friend when not at School. We really had a lot of family and friends to help Isaac celebrate. Able to attend were; Grammy and Gramps, Grandma and Grandpa, Great Grandma Opal and Great Grandpa John, Uncle John and Toby the pup, Uncle Mikey and anut Kristi, Auntie Jill and Aaron, Uncle Alan, Cousins Chris, Luciana, Talyn and Hadley, and friends Greg and Steph. We really missed all of you that were not able to make it, and look forward to seeing you soon.

It was also perfect weather! The best weather so far this year as far as Spring/Summer time go. Everyone spent a lot of time outside, both in the back yard and front. Since the front yard is a bit shadier (is that a word?) that is where we decided to have Isaac open his gifts. Isaac really hit the jackpot this year with a new bicycle, wagon with a canopy, digital camera (he wants to be like his daddy), clothes, games, toys, books, clothes, movies, crafts, an umberella...umm...so he's all set for summer and our camping vacation to Maine (hopefully if the gas prices don't go up any more before then). Thanks so much to everyone! Isaac had a blast!

Daddy helped Isaac ride his new bicycle for the first time. When it came time for the cake that Grammy and I slaved over for hours decorating, I went inside to retrieve it, and found the dogs licking their chops. I looked around in the kitchen figuring they had gotten into something in there, but nope. The trash was fine too... I figured maybe they were just drooling because everything smelled so good. Again, nope. I headed for the cake, and a couple of steps away, I saw it. Two big bites out of Diego. I closed my eyes, hoping that perhaps I was seeing things. When I opened them, the dogs were looking at me, Ruthie backing away and Toby (John and Steph's pup) I swear was grinning. I managed not to plant my foot in their behinds and carried the cake outside, feeling fortunate that they hadn't eaten the whole thing. We cut off the parts the dogs got to and ate it. It was good.

Amelia, though a little fussy throughout the day due to having her first cold, looked awfully pretty for Isaac's party.

On Isaac's actual birthday, Brian took Isaac to the "Man Store" (Lowe's), then to the park to play for a while. Shortly after they returned, Jill and Aaron arrived from a friend's house, and Isaac enjoyed a nap with Aaron while Brian bonded with his little girl, and Jill and I went to Ikea. A little later that day, we were informed of the birth of the newest member of the family, Reid Patrick Wingerter! Congratulations Kari and Andy! Two special boys share the same special day!

Busy May Weekend #1

It was a busy weekend! We drove to Jackson and had the kids baptized in Mom and Dad's church. They have such a beautiful ceremony there- following each of the kids getting baptized, they sing a song for each of them. "Isaac, Isaac, God claims you. Guides you protects you and loves you, too..." It goes on. I don't remember all of the words but it is so sweet and touching.

Also able to make were of course Grammy and Gramps, Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Mikey and Aunt Kristi, Uncle John and Aunt Steph, Auntie Jill and Aaron, Aunt Nunani (Suellen), Uncle Johnny and Aunt Denise, and Cousins Scott and Jamie. We got a group picture after the service. We thought of all of you that weren't able to make it, and we miss you!

So Isaac is looking a lot like Uncle Mikey. Especially the hair, as you can see...

So, it was a long weekend, and Aaron enjoyed a quick nap snuggling with Amelia. Kari, hopefully you can see how beautiful Amelia looked in the dress you got her! She was baptized in it.

And Isaac was so tuckered out that he fell asleep after just making it into the chair! I think he had actually been in there for a while, but doesn't it look uncomfortable? He slept in bed with Brian and I on Saturday night, and we really learned a lot about what a restless, violent sleeper he is! I think we're going to end up with bruises! He's wearing a cowboy vest that Michael and John had when they were little. He loves it and wore it home today. I think he would have slept in it if we would have let him.

Kari, we're thinking about you, and I'm now hoping for you that you're sweet one will make an appearance on the 1st anniversary of my 29th birthday. That's right, I refuse to say it at this time!

Day at Kings Island.

Well, we just got back from a day at King's Island. Isaac had a blast, not that he is tall enough to ride a couple of rides. Amelia slept the entire time. Isaac can't wait for the water park to open up so he can play in the water.

Amelia had her 2 month checkup last week and she is 10 lbs, 22.5" long. She is growing pretty quick now, just like Isaac.

Amazingly, Isaac now has curls in his hair, Lots of them. Here is a picture of him next to Uncle Mikey.

Isaac enjoyed a ride that took you up about 2 stories then dropped you down. A kiddy version of the bigger drop rides. He laughed the entire way down.

And Amelia slept the entire day!
